Watson Speech to Text and Text to Speech have released Lite Plans!

On Nov 1st, 2017, both Watson Speech to Text and Watson Text to Speech released Lite Plans, as part of IBM Cloud Platform’s initiative to roll out Lite Plans across public cloud services.

What are the Watson Speech to Text and Text to Speech Lite Plans?

The Lite Plans for both Watson Speech to Text and Watson Text to Speech offer free access to Speech to Text and Text to Speech services without requiring a credit card.

The Watson Speech to Text Lite Plan starts with 100 minutes per month at no cost. All standard features are available with this plan, other than Language & Acoustic Model Customization. When you upgrade to the Standard Plan, you will get access to these customization capabilities.

The Watson Text to Speech Lite Plan starts with 10, 000 characters per month at no cost. All standard features are available with this plan, other than customization. When you upgrade to the Standard Plan, you will get access to customization capabilities.

For both Lite Plans, if you are close to using up your quota in a month, you will receive an email notification. If you use your quota early in the month, you will need to either upgrade to the respective Standard Plans or wait until the beginning of the next month to start again.
