The Liberty-for-Java buildpack v3.34 now includes Liberty Runtime 19.0.0.7, IBM Small Footprint JRE 8.0.5.37 and AdoptOpenJDK 11 OpenJ9 JRE 11.03.

The buildpack usually contains two production versions of Liberty, a default version that remains constant for approximately 3 months and the latest version as an alternate. In this new buildpack, the default version is 19.0.0.6 and the alternate version is 19.0.07. To use the 19.0.0.7 version of Liberty (the alternate version), follow these instructions. 

To use the OpenJ9 JRE, set the JBP_CONFIG_IBMJDK environment variable to “version: 11.+”. An existing application will not be affected by the new buildpack until you redeploy it. After your redeployment, existing applications should continue to run “as is” without any additional changes. New applications will automatically use the new buildpack.
