Updates to the editor and viewer roles on the billing service will provide a more intuitive and flexible IBM Cloud experience.

Starting 1 May 2020, the viewer and editor roles on the IBM Cloud billing service will be updated to provide read-only access to view billing and subscription usage data. Currently, only users with an administrator role on the billing service can view billing and subscription usage data.

The new changes allow more users in your account to view billing and subscription usage data. It’s recommended that all IBM Cloud customers review their access policies on the IBM Cloud billing service to prepare for the upcoming changes.

You can view the access policies for users in your account in the IBM Cloud console by going to Manage > Access (IAM) > and selecting Users. Click on a user and navigate to the Access policies section to view access policies for that user.

Check out “Viewing your usage” for more information about what’s required to access billing and subscription usage data for your account.
