Announcing an expanded offering of IZO™ Private Connect and IBM Cloud Direct Link.

Ahead of the annual International Telecoms Week (ITW) conference in Atlanta, GA, IBM and Tata Communications are announcing an expanded offering of IZO™ Private Connect and IBM Cloud Direct Link to deliver secure and reliable network connectivity to the IBM Cloud.

IZO™ Private Connect now offers dedicated connectivity with speeds up to 5 Gbps to IBM Cloud data centers across India, North America, and Asia Pacific. This expanded partnership means enterprises can now set up direct access to the IBM Cloud from on-premises and private cloud environments using Tata Communications’ IZO™ Private Connect service and accelerate their adoption of hybrid cloud strategies.

Hybrid cloud adoption requires secure, reliable connectivity

The role of hybrid cloud computing is growing at a greater rate and scale than ever before, and enterprises are increasingly reaping the benefits of a well-defined hybrid cloud strategy. According to the IBM Institute for Business Value, 76% of organizations report they are already using at least 2 to 15 hybrid clouds and 98% forecast they will be using multiple hybrid clouds within three years.

IBM Cloud Direct Link is a global access platform designed to provide connectivity to the IBM Cloud so enterprises can meet the demands of implementing their hybrid cloud strategies and be successful in modernizing their mission-critical applications.

Chapter two of the cloud journey

As enterprises move into chapter two of the cloud journey, they are rapidly migrating business-critical applications to the cloud and building innovative solutions that leverage AI, analytics, blockchain, and more. With the expanded IBM and Tata Communications collaboration, customers have greater choice and flexibility to create resilient, secured connections using hybrid cloud strategies from their on-premises and private cloud environments.

With IZO™ Private Connect availability now expanded across India, North America, and Asia Pacific, Tata Communications customers can connect enterprise workloads and apps from on-premises data centers and existing infrastructure to the IBM Cloud with the high-bandwidth, security-rich, and resilient services they need.

Data security and integrity

IZO™ Private Connect is quick to provision and ensures the security and integrity of data because it uses private connections over MPLS and Ethernet networks instead of the public internet. This dedicated connectivity is increasingly important as demand for hybrid cloud grows and as the advanced workloads and applications that enterprises are running on the cloud— including AI, deep learning, IoT, HPC, and blockchain—become more pervasive and data-intensive.

More and more enterprises want to harness the scalability of cloud infrastructure for corporate applications—but the most business-critical ones depend on the unparalleled reliability of private networks,” said Song Toh, Vice President, Global Network Services, Tata Communications. “Our IZO™ Private Connect with IBM Cloud safeguards application access in the hybrid cloud world. It ensures the integrity and security of data, and delivers a seamless and reliable user experience, no matter what.”

See what’s new in SingleStoreDB with IBM 8.0

3 min read - Despite decades of progress in database systems, builders have compromised on at least one of the following: speed, reliability, or ease. They have two options: one, they could get a document database that is fast and easy, but can’t be relied on for mission-critical transactional applications. Or two, they could rely on a cloud data warehouse that is easy to set up, but only allows lagging analytics. Even then, each solution lacks something, forcing builders to deploy other databases for…
