With the new IBM Cloud Managed Database Server Beta service, you can create an instance of Microsoft SQL Server on IBM Cloud.

You can use this SQL Server instance just as you would use any database management system, but without the effort and expense of hardware setup or software installation and maintenance.

This service offers the following features:

  • Choice of Microsoft SQL Server versions 2012, 2014, and 2016 Enterprise and Standard Editions
  • Various predefined configurations or sizes to meet your application workload requirements
  • Fully managed by IBM, including monitoring, patching, backup, reporting
