IBM actively engages developers, architects, and engineers in the open source community through foundations and initiatives, including the compute offering IBM Cloud Foundry. As a Platinum Member of the Cloud Foundry Foundation, IBM regularly sponsors the annual Cloud Foundry Summit, with a host of IBM-contributed keynotes, sessions, tracks, and latest information about Cloud Foundry.

Developers use Cloud Foundry across every stage of the application development life-cycle, a container-based architecture suited for a multi-cloud environment. That portability translates to an ability to utilize the cloud platform that is the best fit for the app, without refactoring the app itself. IBM Cloud is a Cloud Foundry Certified Provider for its advanced PaaS capabilities.

Cloud Foundry is a user-driven organization, of, by, and for the developer community. They just released their yearly survey to “give you an opportunity to influence engineering, while helping us understand key use cases and technology preferences. By sharing your opinions, the Cloud Foundry Foundation will be able to advocate on your behalf.”
