IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog in Frankfurt

Guten Tag! We are excited to announce that IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog is now available in the Frankfurt data center. To sign-up or sign-in to Watson Knowledge Catalog in the Frankfurt data center, go to https://eu-de.dataplatform.cloud.ibm.com.

Watson Knowledge Catalog is an intelligent cataloging service that lets you bring together and prepare analytic and AI assets, including machine-learning models and structured and unstructured data, wherever they are located, to power your data science and AI projects.

Find and use data

From a centralized shop-for-data portal for the enterprise, business users, data scientists, and data engineers can easily search for cataloged assets across on-premises and cloud sources and then quickly put the data into productive use through seamlessly integrated applications such as Watson Studio, which provides data science tools to build, train, and deploy AI models. Additionally, users may discover new assets suggested by Watson-powered AI recommendations, which find the most relevant assets based on asset relationships, how they’re used and ratings from other users.

Automatically profile and classify data

Data assets are automatically profiled and classified when they are added to the catalog, making it easy for users to find, understand, share, and use the assets.

Refine and analyze data

Users can cleanse, refine, and transform data with 100+ data operations using the embedded data preparation capabilities. With each transformation step, users can quickly analyze the data through powerful visualizations and built-in charts. They will be able to better understand their data and immediately see the effects of each transformation step.

Govern data

To protect sensitive data in the catalog, Chief Data Officers or Data Stewards can define data policies and rules that will control data access or mask sensitive data elements. Policy enforcement is automatic and enabled all the time to ensure that only the right people can access the right data.

Define business glossary terms

Add or import business terms into the business glossary, which provides a framework to capture and manage the enterprise’s common business vocabulary.
