All Cloud Foundry Public Apps will switch to using Log Analysis with LogDNA after September 5, 2019.
In November 2018, IBM Cloud announced the availability of IBM Log Analysis with LogDNA, a new service that simplified log management on IBM Cloud. Subsequently, in a March 2019 announcement, a timeline for the deprecation of the older IBM Cloud Log Analysis service was published.
We are happy to announce today that getting logs for IBM Cloud Foundry Public apps just got easier. All IBM Cloud Foundry Public apps will automatically integrate with the new IBM Log Analysis with LogDNA service, letting users access Cloud Foundry app logs from within the LogDNA console.

IBM Cloud Foundry Public users can also access the Log Analysis with LogDNA service from the CF app context.
Please read through the documentation on how to set up Log Analysis with LogDNA for your Cloud Foundry applications. The service has both Lite and paid plans. The Lite plan is free to use, but you’ll only get streaming events. To get advanced capabilities like archiving, retention, search, etc., you’ll need to use one of the paid plans.
Key dates
After September 5, 2019, all IBM Cloud Foundry Public apps will, by default, send logs to only the Log Analysis with LogDNA service. Cloud Foundry users are encouraged to set up the Log Analysis with LogDNA service to continue monitoring logs for their apps.
