Announcing an exciting development in the IBM Business Automation portfolio.

As we recently announced, IBM is expanding its business automation portfolio to include two open source offerings: IBM Process Automation Manager Open Edition and IBM Decision Manager Open Edition.

These offerings, previously delivered by Red Hat as Red Hat Process Automation Manager and Red Hat Decision Manager, complement our current low-code/no-code platform to address IT-centric, “build-your-own” use cases. IBM is now positioned to deliver intelligent business automation capabilities for workflow and decision management that meet the needs of organizations of all styles.

About the new offerings

IBM Process Automation Manager Open Edition complements our workflow offerings, including enterprise-grade Business Automation Workflow and the lightweight footprint Workflow Process Service. It provides BPMN2.0 modeling, dashboarding and full decision management support.

IBM Decision Manager Open Edition is the latest addition to our decision management capabilities, which consist of the enterprise-grade Operational Decision Manager and low-code, next-generation Automation Decision Services. It offers Kogito-based cloud-native architecture, DMN1.4-compliant runtime and complex event processing.

Get started

These offerings provide IBM with a great opportunity to extend our longstanding commitment to open source. We are particularly excited about participating in the Kogito project, which — among other items — focuses on native serverless business automation, built for the cloud. We will continue Red Hat’s strategy to deliver Kogito functionality in a phased approach.

You can learn more about these offerings, their features and where they fit into the IBM portfolio by attending the What’s New in Workflow and Decisions: Open Editions webinar on August 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. EDT.

We also encourage you to engage with the IBM Decision Management and Workflow communities as you explore these offerings and to refer to the IBM/Red Hat Frequently Asked Questions if you have any questions about the transition of these products to IBM.
