We launched IBM’s new strategic and container-based serverless platform in September and have been continuously improving it since then.
IBM Cloud Code Engine is a fully managed, serverless platform that runs your containerized workloads, including web apps, microservices, event-driven functions or batch jobs. Code Engine even builds container images for you from your source code. Because these workloads are all hosted within the same Kubernetes infrastructure, all of them can work together seamlessly. The Code Engine experience is designed so that you can focus on writing code and not on managing the infrastructure that is needed to host it.
Now available in the Frankfurt MZR
As we are getting ready for general availability, we are pleased to announce the roll-out of IBM Cloud Code Engine in the IBM Cloud Frankfurt multi-zone region (MZR). We know that the ability to deploy in specific and multiple regions is important due to in-country regulations, latency or high availability in disaster situations. You can now choose between the Dallas and Frankfurt MZRs to deploy your work workloads.
In addition, we are now removing some beta limitations for Code Engine, regardless of the region in which you deploy. Projects, applications and jobs that you create from now on will not expire after seven days. In addition, you are no longer limited to one project per region.
