Announcing the general availability of the IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service Diagnostics and Debug Tool.

Today, the IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service Diagnostics and Debug Tool has graduated from beta and is now generally available (GA). The tool is available as an add-on for IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service clusters and no longer requires Helm to be installed. Several enhancements have also been made to fix bugs and to reduce the memory footprint the tool uses in order to have minimal impact on your clusters where it is installed.

How to use the IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service Diagnostics and Debug Tool

After selecting your cluster in the IBM Cloud console, click the Add-ons tab. In the list of add-ons, you will see the Diagnostics and Debug Tool.

To install the Diagnostics and Debug Tool in your cluster, click the Install button. Then, in the dialog box that appears, click Install.

After the installation of the Diagnostics and Debug tool has completed, click the Dashboard button in the Diagnostics and Debug Tool section of the Add-ons tab. The Diagnostics and Debug Tool will open in a new tab in your browser.

For more information describing how to use the Diagnostics and Debug Tool, see the IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service documentation.

Automatic updates

Because the Diagnostics and Debug Tool is installed as a cluster add-on, you no longer have to worry about updating to the latest version of the tool for feature enhancements and the latest bug fixes. The Diagnostics and Debug Tool automatically updates when new enhancements are released. You can be assured that the latest version is always installed in your cluster.

Summary

The IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service Diagnostics and Debug Tool is now generally available and can be installed as an add-on through the IBM Cloud web console. Updates for the add-on will be automatically applied to the Diagnostics and Debug Tool.
