Go Lite with Watson Knowledge Studio

Watson Knowledge Studio (WKS) is now available with a Lite Plan, as part of IBM Cloud’s Lite Accounts that never expire and don’t need payment information. If you are involved with analyzing text data and have never used WKS or if you had signed up to use the Free Plan of WKS on IBM Cloud, you should read this!

Watson Knowledge Studio was launched a few months ago on IBM Cloud as a powerful application that allows users to teach Watson how to interpret specific terms in unstructured text. With a no-code approach, experts in a domain (such as life insurance or infectious diseases) can use examples to teach Watson about specific terms that are common vernacular in that domain. Experts can train Watson in a collaborative environment that combines individual expertise into a trained machine learning model. WKS models can then be deployed into the text analytics pipelines of Watson Discovery, Watson Natural Language Understanding or Watson Explorer to customize text extraction.

Highlights: Watson Knowledge Studio Lite Plan

  • The new WKS Lite Plan replaces the WKS Free Plan and will continue to offer free forever access to WKS.

  • All WKS Free Plan users will be converted automatically to the WKS Lite Plan – no action required on your part.

  • All IBM Cloud Lite account users can now find and access WKS in their IBM Cloud catalog (previously the WKS Free plan was available only to IBM Trial and Paid account users).

  • WKS Lite Plan users can seamlessly upgrade to a Paid plan without needing to manually migrate their data.

With an IBM Cloud Lite account, you can now easily execute a full use case to build a WKS model and deploy it in Watson Discovery or Watson Natural Language Understanding, without paying a penny.

Check out the FAQ on Lite Plans for more information. If have any questions or comments, drop us a note.
