Migrate to IBM Streaming Analytics

The IBM Geospatial Analytics service receives geospatial data to track when devices enter, leave, or hang out in defined regions. It is a set of applications running on IBM Streaming Analytics.

IBM Streaming Analytics for IBM Cloud is an advanced analytic platform allowing user-developed applications to quickly ingest, analyze, and correlate information as it arrives from a wide variety of real-time data sources. Analysis of structured and unstructured streaming data like text, video, audio, geospatial, and sensor data helps organizations spot opportunities and risks to make decisions in near real time.

Feature changes

The IBM Geospatial Analytics Service will no longer be available starting August 5, 2020, and it will have End of Life on February 4, 2021. IBM continues to offer geospatial analytics capabilities in the IBM Weather Operations Center.

Getting Started with IBM Streaming Analytics and migrating from Geospatial Analytics

  1. Visit the Streaming Analytics page in the IBM Cloud catalog and create a Streams instance.
  2. Run one of our Sample Applications or develop and run your own Streams application by following our Streaming Analytics Development Guide.
  3. The Streams developer community provides a wide range of examples and tutorials for different use cases, including Geospatial data analytics.
  4. To estimate costs, use the cost calculator and select your country for local currency rates.
