The solution supports Oracle Database 11g, 126.96.36.199.0 (driver), IBM Db2 v10.5.0.8, Db2 on z/os, 1.4.2 (driver), SQLite 3.9.2, 3.15.0.SNAPSHOT (driver), PostgreSQL 9.4.11, 1.5.0_22-b03 (driver) and MsSQL Serv 2014, 1.8.0_60-b27 (driver).
Is the product available in IBM Cloud?
The initial offering is an on-premises solution. Future versions will be provided as an offering within IBM Cloud™.

How does the solution produce synthetic test data?
It can leverage and transform existing information sources to create synthetic data. Or it can generate the data using a combination of rules based on constraints, analytics, knowledge base, declared relationships or coded functionality.
Does the solution build a meta model as it creates new data?
Yes. It captures and stores, for reuse, the underlying metadata for data sources and targets.
Does the application allow me to populate reference and seed tables with my own data?
Yes. The knowledge-base design supports this requirement. It can also read underlying DBMS schema content and data, and use this as input into the data fabrication process. The solution can infer referential integrity rules from existing data sources, as it performs data generation services.
Does the solution enable users to define data relationships that are not available in the data structures?
Yes, it can specify data relationships not found in data structures.
Can the software export data to different formats such as XML, JSON or flat files?
Yes. It provides a full toolset for new target or source development, and can read/insert data into any JDBC-compliant data source. It also enables output to flat files and custom-based source/target formats. XML-specific and JSON-specific output formats are in the current product roadmap.
Can the system provide metrics and visibility into what is being generated?
Yes, it provides a mechanism to immediately view generated data. IBM provides statistics on the fabricated data process.
Does the software integrate with CI/CD tools and other frameworks or APIs?
It can integrate with CI/CD tools, APIs and unique data formats (for example, message-based) using a Java-based SDK. It is equipped with a broad set of services, exposed thru a REST API mechanism, to facilitate this process.
Do Optim and this solution interoperate?
It is an independent solution. It can be used with Optim-generated data stores (that is, gold copy) that serve as source information. In this case, Test Data Fabrication can be used to augment and extend Optim DBMS-produced output for provisioning test data.
