In the 2020 Critical Capabilities for Unified Endpoint Management Tools, Gartner specifies four integral use cases to be considered by enterprise IT & Security teams adopting and utilizing unified endpoint management (UEM) tools. These are:
- Enterprise PC Management
- Compliance-Driven Management
- Role-based Device Management
- Unmanaged Devices/BYO
In a field of 13 vendors, IBM scored 2nd highest in Compliance-Driven Management and Role-Based Device Management, and 3rd highest in Enterprise PC Management and Unmanaged Devices/BYO. In our view, this is due to its enterprise-class ability to manage multiple types of devices, from mobile to PC operating systems and OEM-specific devices.
Read and understand Gartner report surrounding these four uses cases and more — from endpoint analytics to light/zero touch enrollment and CMT features — and how they contribute to the support of the four Critical Capabilities.
