Working to expand the role of medical imaging for better patient care

Imaging precision has improved as a result of technological advancements and breakthroughs in related research. Those advancements have led to exponential growth in medical imaging data with an exploding number of images per exam, a growing number of exams per population, and declining reimbursement per procedure, all leading to increasing demand for efficiency and quality.

Watson Health Imaging plans to introduce solutions that analyze structured and unstructured patient, population, and medical research data residing within disconnected silos. It strives to organize available information and present it in a contextually relevant, probability-driven manner to assist healthcare professionals in an objective manner, whether at a reading workstation or at the point of care.

The next frontier of medical imaging begins now

The daily volume of medical data healthcare professionals must contend with continues to proliferate. At the same time medical images often remain disconnected from other sets of patient, population, and research data.

Watson Health Imaging and Merge are working together to deliver cognitive medical imaging solutions for radiologists, cardiologists and healthcare providers who treat a wide variety of diseases around the globe in 2017 and beyond.
