Installation Instructions

Installation Manager versions are released as both fix packs and installer packages. Use the installer packages when you are installing Installation Manager for the first time. Use the fix pack or the installer packages when you are updating Installation Manager.

Package	File name	Action	Operating System
Installer	agent.installer.platform_version	Install or update Installation Manager	The .zip file is specific to a platform. In the file name, platform indicates the operating system and version indicates the version of Installation Manager.
Fix Pack	com.ibm.cic.agent.offering_version.zip	Update Installation Manager	All supported platforms. In the file name, version indicates the version of Installation Manager.

The fix pack package is significantly larger than the platform-specific installer packages. If you are updating Installation Manager on one platform, consider the installer package, agent.installer.platform_version, to update Installation Manager.

The Installation Manager .zip file packages are code signed for all platforms and can be verified after download by running the following verification step by using a Java Development Kit (JDK). For example, on a Windows system where a JDK is installed to the \System-JDK folder, you can run:

C:\System-JDK> - .\bin\jarsigner -verify 'Installation Manager zip package'

and get a

jar verified.

This fix release includes security fixes. This release bundles the following IBM Java 8 Fix Pack versions: 8.0.8.30 for Linux PPC32/64* 8.0.8.35 for HP-UX* 8.0.8.45 for Linux Z32* 8.0.8.55 for all other platforms * - These were the latest available IBM Java Fix Packs at the time of this release.

Note: Selecting the FC link takes you to IBM Fix Central. You are presented with two or more downloads of varying sizes. At minimum, you see the Installer and Fix Pack download and more downloads if there are hardware variants. In Fix Central, the agent.installer.platform.zip file is referred to as a refresh pack and as a fix. You can use this file to install Installation Manager. You can also use this file to update Installation Manager from an earlier version.
