Problem
A connection to MemSQL will fail due to an exception when newer (i.e. 8.0.16) versions of the MySQL Connector/J driver are used.
Symptom
A connection to MemSQL in Cognos Analytics is defined via the MySQL connection editor. Due to changes in the newer MySQL Connector/J driver it will throw an exception such as
Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Unknown system variable ‘performance_schema’".
