Error description
After successfully installing the IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environment on Windows only the user which ran the spinstall.exe can see the full list of installed components in "Add or Remove Programs" from Windows "Control Panel". This is the full list of components: - IBM Spectrum Protect Client - IBM Spectrum Protect Data Protection for VMware - Data Protection APIs - IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for VMware - IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for VMware suite - IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments Data Protection for VMware License - IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Framework - IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Recovery Agent - IBM Spectrum Protect JVM - IBM Spectrum Protect WebServer If any other user tried to check the installed components the following components will be missing from that list: - IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for VMware - IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Framework This also affects upgrades, For example if another user upgraded the IBM Spectrum Protect Data Protection for VMware to a higher version other users including the user who performed the installation will see the 2 components above at the old version and they will not be upgraded. IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments: Data Protection for VMware version 8.1 on all supported Windows platforms.
