IT42179: COPY BACKUP OR RESTORE FROM COPY BACKUP OPERATION COMPLETES WITHERROR CTGGA2653 IF DATA MOVERS RUNS VERY SHORT TIME

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IBM Spectrum Protect Plus copy backup or restore from copy
  backup operation completes with error CTGGA2653 when data-mover
  pod runs for a short time. If data mover runs short, the
  container backup support agent does not get status of
  short-running data mover container. The short running data
  movers are more likely to happen when the PVC is small or no new
  data are written to the PVC since the last backup.
  
  Error in Spectrum Protect Plus server job log:
  CTGGA2653 Backup failed: The creation of a data mover failed
  with the error message: agent_openshift]
  CTGGA2653 Backup failed: The creation of a data mover failed
  with the error message: 'ProgressDeadlineExceeded'
  CTGGA2653 Backup failed: The data mover for item x failed to
  report status for some time. The backup operation has timed out.

Problem conclusion

• Code changes were made to extend the minimum life span of data
