Error description
When there is a very high workload, the internal messaging system cannot process incoming requests fast enough which causes /data to become full. APAR IT38981 addresses the above to prevent the above situation. This APAR here addresses the specific case when the cause of the high workload is due to incorrectly repeating schedules. Backup schedules defined with the 'Repeats' field equal to 'Weekly' can be seen to start many times instead of only starting once at the expected time. These multiple starts can cause the high workload. |MDVREGR 10.1.10 5737SPLUS| APAR IT38981 IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.4 and later. Local fix
To get the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus operational again : 1. Remove contents under /data/rabbitmq/mnesia/ 2. Reboot SPP To prevent this from happening the next time a weekly schedule runs : Update any SLA using the 'Repeats'='Weekly' frequency to use any other available frequency (Daily, Monthly, ...)

Problem conclusion
The weekly scheduler in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus has been fixed to ensure that it does not become caught in a loop and continuously attempt to reschedule a weekly job when initial scheduling fails. This fix ensures that an inordinate amount of log messages are no longer sent through the internal messaging system (the RabbitMQ service), which previously caused the RabbitMQ service to fail.
