Saving data for integrated servers
You can back up and recover integrated server data from i5/OS, and the integrated Windows server.
An integrated server is
a combination of integrated server hardware,
network components, virtual disks, shared devices, and i5/OS integrated server configuration
objects.
- iSCSI-attached System x and blade systems
- You can integrate System x or blade systems using System i® storage, x86-based hardware, and the Linux, Windows, or VMWare operating systems.
- IXS or IXA-attached integrated Windows servers
- You can configure i5/OS and the Windows operating system to work with a System i integration with BladeCenter and System x solution.
If you want to save everything on an AIX®, i5/OS, Linux, VMWare, or Windows logical partition, you must use GO SAVE Option 21. This option puts your system into a restricted state and saves the network storage spaces, network server descriptions, objects, and other configuration information for disaster recovery purposes.
