Specifying system location information
Specifying IBM® Electronic Service Agent system location information is the another step in preparing to connect to the IBM Electronic Support website.
System location information
Specify location information for the system. Information that is designated with an asterisk (*)
is required.
Tip: You can use the esacli locationSettings command to
display and specify location information. For information, see esacli locationSettings.
You can specify location information during the activation stage by using the SMIT
(for AIX®) or cfgassist (for VIOS) interface. Select
Help from the panels if you have questions about the specific panel or the
information to enter. To specify location information, complete the following steps:
- Log on to the system as root for AIX or padmin for VIOS.
- Enter smit for AIX or cfgassist for VIOS at the command prompt.
- Select Electronic Service Agent.Note: If you are using AIX, you can go directly to the Electronic Service Agent main panel by entering
smit esa_main
at the command prompt. - Select Configure Electronic Service Agent.
- Enter the location information .
- Press Enter.
