Using link validity in CLM applications
Link validity is a status on a link between artifacts to indicate whether the contents of
two artifacts meet the intended meaning of their link. Learn about using this information to achieve
consistency across, and propagate changes through, linked data.
You must have configuration management enabled for the project. If your project does not use configuration management, you can enable suspect link traceability for the project.

- Link validity
Linked data is only useful when there is semantic consistency between two artifacts and the relationship between them. In projects with large data sets, achieving and maintaining consistency across linked data can be challenging over time. You can use the link validity status to achieve consistency across artifacts and links as you make changes that propagate through the linked data. - Viewing and changing link validity status in CLM projects
You can see and set link validity information in views and artifact grids that show links to artifacts. You can also include comments about why you chose a status. To see validity summary information, hover over artifact links in the grid view or add the Validity Summary column to artifact views. - Reporting on link validity status in CLM projects
You can report on link validity status by adding SPARQL content to the query that you build by using Report Builder. For example, you might generate a report to show the links whose validity status is Invalid, so you know which artifacts to examine and possibly change to restore validity.
