Configuring Insight Server for development

Configure a single Insight Server for development use. You cannot use the cisDev server template for production purposes.

Workflow to create a development server
  • Preparing a development server host
    You must install Decision Server Insights on each computer you plan to use as a server host. The distribution structure includes the Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE) that is required to create server instances.
  • Creating a development server
    Create a Decision Server Insights development server on the host machine by running a server create command, specifying the server name and the cisDev template name as input parameters.
  • Optional: Customizing the development server
    Change the properties of your development server as required. For example, you can change port numbers, setup security (SSL keystore, user registry, and security authorization roles), and configure inbound and outbound connectivity to receive and send events.
  • Optional: Managing servers from Insight Designer
    It is possible to manage any Insight Server in Insight Designer. The cisDev server that is installed by default can also be started and stopped from the Samples console.
