Monitoring and managing the server

Use the Rule Execution Server console to manage the configuration of the server, monitor server and application performance, and view server and execution log files.

You can view the management and ruleset execution events logged for the server from the Server Info tab or by opening the log file.

You can run a diagnostic test of the installed Rule Execution Server from the console. The server deploys and executes a test ruleset. By default, this ruleset is /test_ruleapp/1.0/test_ruleset/1.0. The trace displays a result at each stage in the diagnostics test. The zRule Execution Server for z/OS® console runs slightly different tests. For more information, see Limitations on zRule Execution Server for z/OS.

For security purposes, or when your test server and your production server are not connected to the same network, you can save the deployed RuleApps. When you do a backup, all the RuleApps that are deployed on Rule Execution Server are saved.

On z/OS, in the Rule Execution Server console, the additional Configuration Details column displays information about the configuration of the execution units (XU), in particular their persistence settings. Rule Execution Server automatically locates the server on which it is running and sets the value of the Execution Unit Location accordingly to zRule Execution Server or CICS JVM Server.
