Changing the operation mode of your broker

Change the operation mode in which your broker is working by using the mqsimode command.

You must change your broker configuration to ensure that your brokers are running in the operation mode for which you have purchased a license. You can change the mode to standard, adapter, express, scale, or advanced.

When you view the broker in the IBM® Integration Explorer, the current mode of each broker is displayed. If the resources deployed to a broker exceed the permitted amounts, the display indicates these violations. You can change the broker mode in the IBM Integration Explorer; for more information, see Changing the operation mode of the integration node using the IBM Integration Explorer. Alternatively, you can use the mqsimode command to make any required changes.

  1. Run the mqsimode command with the -o parameter to change the mode of the broker, or without the -o parameter to view the current setting; for more information, see mqsimode command.
  2. Check for error messages. If you attempt to reconfigure the broker to a mode that is not sufficient for the deployed resources, the mqsimode command issues a warning indicating that changing the mode is not allowed. Resolve any violations, if required; for more information, see Resolving problems that occur during deployment of message flows.
  3. (Optional) Run the mqsimode command again to confirm that there are no violations.

For more information, see Example: Changing the operation mode of your broker.
