How to choose Reference
Use generic profiles when the names of the resources have logically matching characters. Rules for generic profile names and z/OS Security Server RACF Command Language Reference.
Use resource group profiles if the names of the resources do not have logically matching characters and there is a resource grouping class (such as GTERMINL or GDASDVOL). Creating resource group profiles.
Use RACFVARS profiles if the names of the resources do not have logically matching characters and there is no resource grouping class. Using RACF variables in profile names (RACFVARS class).
