Mapping IBM Content Navigator components to IBM HTTP Server

If you deploy IBM® Content Navigator or an IBM Content Navigator component on WebSphere® Application Server, you should map the components of the deployed application to IBM HTTP Server.

About this task

Although IBM HTTP Server is not required, it is strongly recommended that you use IBM HTTP Server to manage HTTP traffic to your IBM Content Navigator server.

Procedure

To map the components of your deployed web application to your load balancing server:

  1. Open the appropriate tool for your environment:
    • WebSphere Application Server administrative console
    • WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment deployment manager administrative console
  2. Go to Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications and click the name of your deployed web application.
  3. Go to Modules > Manage Modules to get a list of the modules in your deployed web application.
  4. Map each module in the deployed web application to IBM HTTP Server.
Also, if you are using task manager, create a mapping entry for the /taskManager URL. If you are using sync services, create a mapping entry for the /sync URL.
  5. Generate the IBM HTTP Server plug-in configuration.
  6. If IBM HTTP Server is on a remote server from your deployment manager, propagate the IBM HTTP Server plug-in to IBM HTTP Server.
  7. Restart IBM HTTP Server.
