Upgrading an IBM ECM CMIS deployment

To upgrade IBM® ECM CMIS, you must rebuild and redeploy your IBM ECM CMIS web applications.

Before you begin

After you upgrade the IBM ECM CMIS software, you must rebuild and redeploy your IBM ECM CMIS web applications.

Before you rebuild and redeploy the web application, back up the IBM ECM CMIS configuration profile that you plan to rebuild and redeploy.

About this task

If you have more than one IBM ECM CMIS deployment in your environment, you must rebuild and redeploy each deployed instance of IBM ECM CMIS.

Use the following tables to determine which configuration and deployment tasks you must run:

Procedure

You must also modify the existing profiles for IBM ECM CMIS, by completing the following steps:

  1. Launch the Configuration tool and select the Modify existing profile option.
Note: To use the profiles copied from the ICN 3.0.x installation using Modify existing profile involves opening the profile twice.
  2. Open the profile in the IBM ECM CMIS Configuration and Deployment tool by pointing to the <profile_name>.cfgp file in the <IBM ECM CMIS install path>/configure/profiles/<profile_name>/ path. The tool will modify the profile and retain only IBM ECM CMIS and FNCS related data and remove other information. The tool will also restart after this process has finished.
  3. When the tool has restarted, open the same profile again and continue with running the configuration tasks.
  4. Configure and run the web application task.
  5. Run the Rebuild EAR task, as well as the Deploy Application task.
  6. Restart the application server.
