Configuring the IBM Content Navigator web application

You must specify the information that the IBM® Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool uses when it creates the IBM Content Navigator web application.

Before you begin

This task assumes that you have a configuration profile open in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool.

Procedure

To configure the IBM Content Navigator web application:

  1. Open the following task in your configuration profile: Configure the IBM Content Navigator Web Application.
  2. Complete the task to configure the IBM Content Navigator web application by using the values that you entered in the Worksheet for configuring the IBM Content Navigator web application.
Highly Available ClustersImportant: If you are deploying IBM Content Navigator to a highly available environment, such as a cluster on WebSphere® Application Server, you must make the IBM Content Navigator configuration directory a shared network directory. Additionally, all of the nodes in the cluster must have read/write access to the directory during configuration and in your runtime environment. However, if you use IBM Daeja® ViewONE Professionalor IBM Daeja ViewONE Virtual, the Daeja ViewONE cache and log files for each node should be stored in a local directory and not in the shared configuration directory to improve performance and help troubleshooting.
  3. Click Next to run the task.

If you are manually running the tasks in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool, you can take one of the following actions:

    • Click Run Task to run the task now. This option is recommended because it makes it easier to troubleshoot and resolve problems if they occur.
    • Wait until all of the tasks are complete and then click Run All Tasks to run all of the tasks that are required to configure and deploy the web application.
