Deploying the disconnected VM Manager Tool

Deploy the disconnected VM Manager Tool when you cannot use other deployment options. In this deployment type, the disconnected scanner must be installed on the computer on which you want to install the VM Manager Tool.

Use the VM Manager Tool in the disconnected mode in the following scenarios.
  • You use License Metric Tool with Ansible or License Metric Tool Lite and some of your VM managers are not accessible from the computer where the License Metric Tool server is installed.
  • You use License Metric Tool with BigFix® but some of your VM managers are not accessible from the computer where the BigFix server nor the computer where the License Metric Tool server is installed and you cannot install the BigFix client on the computer from which the VM managers are accessible.
  • You want to use the VM Manager Tool by an unprivileged user. In all other methods, root or administrative privileges are required. For more information, see: Using VM Manager Tool by unprivileged users.
