Local information centers for COBOL 4.1 and 3.4

Documentation for COBOL 4.1 and 3.4 can be downloaded and installed on a Windows-based workstation or web server for local viewing:
Steps to set up local information centers

Take the following steps to set up local information centers on your workstation:

  1. Double-click IC_start.bat in ent_COBOL_IC/ibm_help to start the build.
  2. A command window is opened to show the build progress. After the build ends, in your browser, type http://your IP address:1111/help/index.jsp to open the local information center, where 1111 is the default port number.
  3. Optional: You can modify the port number in SETTING_HTTP_PORT in the ent_COBOL_IC/ibm_help/customization_iehs.properties file, and then rerun IC_start.bat.

For example, if your IP address is 192.0.0.12 and the port number is 9999, the local information center will be at: http://192.0.0.12:9999/help/index.jsp.

  4. Double-click IC_end.bat in ent_COBOL_IC/ibm_help to exit the build.
