Installing the Rational DOORS client that is to administer the Rational DOORS system
The Rational DOORS client runs on Windows systems only. To install Rational DOORS, a Rational DOORS administrator first installs the client that is to be used to administer the Rational DOORS system. Then, the administrator installs the database server and sets up the administrator and database manager accounts on the client. At that point, team members who are not administrators can install the client on their computers.
Installing the Rational DOORS database server
After you install the client that you plan to use to administer your Rational DOORS system, install the database server. You can install the database server on Windows, Linux®, or Solaris systems.
Installing the Rational DOORS client
The Rational DOORS client runs on Windows systems only. You can install the client on your computer after a Rational DOORS administrator installs and configures the client and database server.
Silently installing Rational DOORS on a Windows system
You can create installation scripts that contain preferred settings and then run the scripts to silently install the server and client across the network. You might silently install if you want to install the client and server again without running the client and server installers again.
Rational DOORS installed on Citrix software
Rational DOORS can be installed on a Citrix environment. You install Rational DOORS in a central location and then can run the client as a remote desktop from multiple locations.
