Connecting the IBM® Engineering Workflow Management Eclipse client to the server

After you install the Engineering Workflow Management Eclipse client, start the client and connect to the server. The easiest way to connect to a server is to use a team invitation that you receive in an email. If you do not have an invitation, you can connect manually.

About this task

Server administrators send team invitations through email. If you have not received a team invitation and do not know the server URL and your credentials, contact your server administrator.
Note: If you have a proxy server in your environment, the Eclipse client uses the HTTP proxy setting and the HTTP proxy must support CONNECT for HTTPS connections.

Procedure

  1. Start the Eclipse client by clicking the Engineering Workflow Management shortcut on your desktop.
  2. Connect to the server.
    • To connect by using a team invitation:
      1. Click File > Accept team invitation.
      2. Paste the invitation text from the email message into the field and click Finish.
    • To connect manually:
      1. Obtain the server URL from the server administrator.
      2. In the Accept Team Invitation window, click connecting to an existing project area.
      3. Follow the instructions in the wizard to set up your connection.
