Installing Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager

About this task

You can install Rational® Engineering Lifecycle Manager with the Rational solution for Collaborative Lifecycle Management launchpad. If you use the CLM web installer, Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager is available in the IBM® Installation Manager CLM repository.

Note: Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager requires the following Jazz Reporting Service applications: Report Builder, Lifecycle Query Engine. Ensure that you install and configure these applications.

What to do next

If you use the default database and user registry, run the Express setup wizard which is a simplified version of the wizard.
If you use an enterprise database, LDAP user registries, or if you want to deploy the applications in a distributed topology, run the Custom setup wizard. This setup option is recommended for production environments.
If you use Design Management (DM), configure the DM data source permission in Lifecycle Query Engine:
1. Go to the Lifecycle Query Engine administration Permissions page http://<host_name>:<port>/lqe/web/admin/permissions.
2. On the Permissions page, under Data Groups, select Design Management.
3. In the Groups section, click Add groups, and select the groups that will have access to the DM resources. To grant all LQE users the permission to access DM resources, select Everyone.
4. Click OK to save your settings.
