Information Management IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management, Version 11.3

Using policy enforcement

With Master Data Policy Enforcement, you can model enforcement processes, enact data policy decisions on master data, and collaboratively remediate policy violations.

Policy enforcement is a component of the IBM® InfoSphere® Master Data Policy Management solution. Business owners must have confidence that master data is compliant with their requirements before their business processes consume the data. Policy enforcement provides assurances that master data is compliant by combining business process management (BPM) and decision management (DM).

Policy enforcement sample applications

Policy enforcement includes a set of user interface sample process applications. Each sample is tailored to a specific business use case.

The samples provide the framework for enforcing critical data change, policy remediation, suspected duplicate policies, and party maintenance. This framework supports the modeling of consuming business process requirements as business rules.

The policy enforcement sample applications enable you to perform process-oriented data governance and improve master data quality by improving task management and multi-user coordination.

You can extend these samples to fit your own unique requirements, or you can create entirely new processes by using your organizations own best practices. The samples provide some best practices to guide you in creating new processes.

The sample applications provided with policy enforcement use IBM Business Process Manager Express version 8.0.1. IBM Business Process Manager Express is included with InfoSphere Master Data Management Standard Edition and InfoSphere Master Data Management Advanced Edition.

Accessing the sample applications

You download the policy enforcement sample applications from the Samples and Assets site for InfoSphere MDM. See Samples for Standard and Advanced Editions for more information about accessing the samples.
