Adding a category hierarchy

You can add a category hierarchy using the Product Maintenance UI Add Category Hierarchy tool.

About this task

To add a category hierarchy:

Procedure

  1. Click Add Category Hierarchy.
  2. Specify a name for the category hierarchy in the Hierarchy Name field.
  3. Choose an item in the Hierarchy Type list box.
  4. Specify a description for the category hierarchy in the Description field.
  5. Specify a date in the Start Date field.
  6. Specify a date in the End Date field.
  7. Specify a name for the category in the Category Name field.
  8. Specify a code for the category in the Category Code field.
  9. Specify a description for the category in the Category Description field.
  10. Enable the Is Categorizable check box, if you want the category hierarchy to be categorizable.
  11. Specify a date in the Start Date field.
  12. Specify a date in the End Date field.
  13. If you want to add another root category to the hierarchy, click Add New Category.
  14. Click Submit.
  15. Click OK.
