A hierarchy shows the parent-child relationship, or relationships
between large groups of nodes.
For example, a corporate hierarchy defines the relationships between
the ultimate parent company, domestic parents, and sub-companies of
the parents (such as branches, subsidiaries, divisions, and headquarters).
You can manage party hierarchical relationships within Data Stewardship and
view them in two ways: textually or dynamically (that is, graphically).
Both views provide you with the ability search for, create and
maintain party hierarchy information, and manage and show the hierarchical
structure between related parties and roles. Use
Data Stewardship to
manage these hierarchical tasks:
- Search hierarchies and view a list of hierarchies matching the
search criteria
- Search for parties and view a list of hierarchies associated with
a party
- Create, maintain, and view hierarchical structure
- Create, maintain, and view hierarchy nodes
- Create, maintain, and view hierarchy relationships and roles
You can toggle between the two views by clicking the Hierarchy Textual View and Hierarchy Dynamic View links.
Note: By default you can view hierarchies by text only. To view hierarchies
by text and graphically, you must configure the graphical hierarch
view feature. The graphical view allows you to manage hierarchies
using enhanced usability so that you can perform many functions with
just a click or two of your mouse. Use this view to manage hierarchies
that are both traditional and non-traditional (that is, nodes with
multiple parents) in more intuitive way than text.
