Installing the IBM IoT MessageSight RPM on a host OS

Install the IBM® IoT MessageSight RPM directly on your host operating system (OS).

Before you begin

Before you install the IBM IoT MessageSight on your host OS, you must provision your OS and prepare the IBM IoT MessageSight .tz files. For more information, see Provisioning your operating system and Preparing the IBM IoT MessageSight .tz packages for installation.

Once you have installed IBM IoT MessageSight, you must set and accept the license. Once you have accepted the license, you can start using IBM IoT MessageSight. For more information about setting and accepting the license, see Configuring the licensed usage for IBM IoT MessageSight and accepting the license by using REST Administration APIs.

About this task

To run IBM IoT MessageSight services, you need to install the IBM IoT MessageSight RPM on a supported host environment. After successful deployment, you can start to use IBM IoT MessageSight to handle connected clients and devices and also to process messages. You can use the IBM IoT MessageSight Web UI to administer the IBM IoT MessageSight messaging server.
