Starting the Launchpad

You can install WSRR interactively by using the Launchpad on Windows and Linux systems. These instructions assume that you do not have existing installations of the prerequisite base products necessary for WSRR installation. These include WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment and IBM® Installation Manager.

About this task

When you start the installation process using the launchpad application and are installing the product together with a new installation of WebSphere Application Server, the launchpad installs IBM Installation Manager (if it is not already installed), WebSphere Application Server and WSRR.

Procedure

  1. If you already have IBM Installation Manager installed, ensure that it is not running.
  2. Start the launchpad application either from the directory where you extracted the WSRR Server image, or from the WSRR Server DVD:
    • For Linux operating system Run launchpad.sh.
    • For Windows operating system Run the launchpad with elevated Microsoft Windows user account privileges. On 32-bit systems, right-click launchpad.exe and select Run as administrator. On 64-bit systems, right-click launchpad64.exe and select Run as administrator.
