Starting IBM Installation Manager manually

If you install WSRR using the launchpad, IBM® Installation Manager is installed automatically (if it is not already installed) on your workstation. This topic provides instructions on how to start IBM Installation Managerl after it is installed.

Before you begin

You must install the Installation Manager for an administrator user. If you install the installation manager for a non-administrator user you will not be able to install WSRR and, you will encounter the following error.
This package cannot be installed because the user does not have administrator rights
or Installation Manager was installed for non-administrator use. Check for other
versions to install or use the Installation Manager installed for administrator use.

Procedure

Start Installation Manager by performing one of the following tasks:
  • For Linux operating systemFor Unix operating system Go to the installation directory for Installation Manager and run the command IBMIM.
  • For Windows operating systemFrom the Windows task bar, click Start > All Programs or Programs > IBM Installation Manager > IBM Installation Manager.
