Upgrading Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool to version 8.1.5 in console mode

Follow these steps to upgrade Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool to version 8.1.5 in console mode.

Before you begin

About this task

Attention: The Installation Manager 1.8.5 documentation is the correct version for the 1.8.6 release.
You must install the reporting tool with Installation Manager 1.8.6 or later. If Installation Manager 1.8.6 is not installed, download the software from the IBM Website for your respective platform and architecture and install it:

Procedure

  1. Download the RLKS_Administration_And_Reporting_Tool_Admin_815.zip media file from the Fix Central.
  2. Extract the files to a directory, such as ../art-installer/815x/.
  3. Launch Installation Manager in console mode.
  4. Add the extracted media file locations to Installation Manager Preferences.
    1. Enter P to open preferences.
    2. Enter 1 for Repositories.
    3. Enter D, input the absolute path to location ../art-installer/815x/RLKS_ADMIN/disk1” and then press Enter.
    4. Enter A to apply changes.
    5. Enter R to return to the main menu.
  5. Enter 2 to update.
  6. Enter an appropriate option to select the Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool package to be updated.
  7. Press Enter to select the default value of Next.
  8. Enter A to accept the license agreement.
  9. Enter N to select the value of Next.
  10. Press Enter to select the default value of Next.
  11. Review the features to install and enter U to update the package. A summary list of upgraded packages displays.
  12. Enter F to finish the updating process.
    Tip: By default, the reporting tool is installed as a Windows service and can be configured as a service on UNIX platform. See Starting Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool on system startup.
    Attention: If the agent is already configured with the reporting tool, when you upgrade, the reporting tool shows the reporting status as Not Running. When you select Start reporting for the first time, the log file conversion process begins. Depending on the size of your server log file, it can take time for the initial conversion of the data. The system must convert the data in the entire log to the required format.
    Important: All necessary data is backed up within installation location. When you log in to the Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool as default user, 'rcladmin' setup page opens which takes you through the migration process.
    Attention: After upgrade, Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool have only default user 'rcladmin'. Recreate the users or reconfigure the LDAP (if old Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool was configured with LDAP).
