Upgrading Rational License Key Server Administration Agent to version 8.1.5

Follow these steps to upgrade Rational License Key Server Administration Agent to version 8.1.5.

Before you begin

Before you install the product, read the System Requirements for Rational® License Key Server technical document to ensure that you understand the requirements.
Know how to download installation files from the IBM® Website.

About this task

Procedure

You must install the server administration agent with IBM Installation Manager 1.8.6 or later.
Attention: The Installation Manager 1.8.5 documentation is the correct version for the 1.8.6 release.
If Installation Manager 1.8.6 is not installed, download the software from the IBM Website for your respective platform and architecture and install it:
If you are using an earlier version of Installation Manager, upgrade to version 1.8.6:
Download the RLKS_Administration_And_Reporting_Tool_Agent_815.zip media files from the Fix Central.
Extract the files to a directory, such as ../agent-installer/815/.
Launch Installation Manager, and then add the extracted media location to IBM Installation Manager Preferences.
1. In Installation Manager, click File > Preferences > Repositories.
2. Add ../agent-installer/815/RLKS_ADMIN_AGENT/disk1/disk1.tag as a repository.
3. Click Apply and OK.
Click Update.
Select the IBM Rational License Key Server Administation Agent package to be updated, and then click Next.
Click IBM Rational License Key Server Administration Agent > Version 8.1.5, and then click Next.
Accept the license agreement, and then click Next.
Review the features to install, and then click Update. A summary list of updated packages displays.
Click Finish. A summary list of updated packages displays.
You can start the application manually as a Windows or UNIX service. See Starting Rational License Key Server Administration and Reporting Tool on system startup.

Attention: If the agent is already configured with the reporting tool, when you upgrade, the reporting tool shows the reporting status as Not Running. When you select Start reporting for the first time, the log file conversion process begins. Depending on the size of your server log file, it can take time for the initial conversion of the data. The system must convert the data in the entire log to the required format.
