Migrating ClearQuest Web configuration settings

After upgrading Rational® ClearQuest®, you might want to apply the same configuration settings to Change Management Server (CM Server) that existed in your previous configuration of ClearQuest Web. Some settings are automatically propagated during the upgrade, while others must be set manually.

In ClearQuest Web version 7.1, CM Server configuration settings are set mostly in the Site Configuration dialog box of the Web client. The properties from the Application Server and Recycle Manager version of the common.properties file are set in the version 7.1 common.properties file.

By default, when you uninstall ClearQuest by using rationaluninstalltool.exe, the properties files listed in the following tables are preserved, and you can manually migrate the settings after you reinstall. However, you should also consider making additional backup copies of the files before uninstalling. If you use the "clean" option (-c) with rationaluninstalltool.exe, the properties files are not preserved, and you must manually migrate all of the settings from the copies of the properties files you preserved before uninstalling. If you must run the clean uninstall option for other reasons, it becomes increasingly important to preserve these properties files if you want to migrate the settings from your pre-7.1 deployment. For more information about the uninstall tool, see Uninstall Rational products. For more information about preserving properties files, see Preserving ClearQuest Web configuration files.

Attention: You must login to the Web client with Administrator privileges to access the Site Configuration window.
To migrate previous configuration files:
The properties from rmmanager.properties can be set in the CM Server Options tab of the Site Configuration window.
