You must maintain the quality and integrity of the system
by completing routine management and troubleshooting tasks.
Server management includes the following tasks:
- Starting and stopping the resource manager, changing ownership
of the resource manager, and starting and stopping resource manager
services
- Finding and repairing data discrepancies with the validation utilities
and recovery tools
- Optimizing databases
- Enabling logging and tracing
Some of these responsibilities require that you work with your
database administrator.
