Start of change IBM Content Manager, Version 8.5.0.3

Setting privacy

The privacy settings prevent the unintentional disclosure of information.

The resource manager can encrypt all object content when at rest (with the exception of cataloged content). As a result, administrative users or other personnel with access to the file system or its backups can no longer view the encrypted data.

Restriction: The resource manager for z/OS is not included.
Requirements:
  • Data at rest encryption impacts performance and requires significant additional CPU load.
  • You must have valid, tested database backups of the resource manager database. Otherwise, loss of the database information will result in the loss of the encrypted content.

On the Privacy page in the resource manager configuration:

  1. Select the Encrypt data at rest checkbox. This will activate encryption of all incoming data.
  2. Click OK to save changes and exit or Apply to save changes and continue working.
