You can examine the similarities and differences between
two of the same types of objects. Additionally, you can compare files;
however, you are actually comparing the content, not the properties,
of the files.
About this task
You can compare the following types of objects:
- Directory
- Folder
- Folder template
- Process rule
- Project
- Project grouping
Procedure
- Right-click over the appropriate object,
and select Compare with.
To find a file, see Finding an object.
- In the selection dialog box, select the object
you want to compare with the specified object and click OK.
The appropriate Compare dialog
box shows the following information:
- Directories: Unique and common entries
- Folders and process rules: Properties and tasks
- Folder templates: Properties
- Projects: Unique and common members
- Project groupings: Properties, projects, and tasks
- View the properties of an object by selecting
the object and clicking .
- View the history of an object by selecting
the object and clicking .
- Compare two object versions by clicking the
first version, pressing Ctrl and clicking the second version, then
clicking .
