If organization units are enabled for your organization, you can modify the capacity of
any active care team member who as at least one assigned role. You might need to do this if the
maximum number of clients that they can safely and effectively manage increases or decreases, due to
their availability, working hours, or skills.
Before you begin
Capacity is a calculation that is used to determine the
workload of care team members (for example, care managers) and their ability to manage their
existing workload or take on new work. By default, a care team member has a maximum capacity of 150.
However, you can modify capacity for care team members. But you can only modify the capacity of care
team members in your organization unit whose status is Active and only those who have at least one
assigned care team role. You cannot modify the capacity of care team members whose status is
Suspended or Closed.
About this task
From your workspace, use the Care Team view in the Capacity chart to see the total number
of active care team members in your organization units and the number among them who are Over
capacity, and at High, Medium, and Low capacity. In the Total view, you can see the total number of
clients who are assigned to care team members and the total available capacity of all of the care
team members in your organization. Assign clients to care team members based on their available
capacity. When you assign a client to a care team member, you see the care team member's capacity
that is displayed as a percentage and a ratio. For example, 67% (100/150) indicates that the care
team member is at 67% capacity and has 33% available capacity. (100/150) indicates that the care
team member has 100 active clients and the maximum number of clients that the care team member can
manage is 150.
If a care team member fulfills multiple care team roles, their capacity is the
maximum number of clients that they can manage across all roles that they fulfill. For example, if a
care team member serves in a nurse role for 10 clients and a dietician role for 30 clients, the care
team member's capacity is 80/300, where the capacity is 150 per role.
When you modify a care
team member's capacity, the maximum capacity number is updated in the Assigned column on the Care
Team list page. You are notified of the modified capacity with an information icon. Assign more
clients or fewer clients to a care team member based on the updated capacity value.
