Deleting a COBOL XOM

If you delete a COBOL XOM after you have generated the BOM, you must create a new XOM.

About this task

If you delete a XOM before you generate a BOM from it, it has no impact on your rule project.

However, in certain circumstances you might want to delete the XOM after you have generated the BOM. In this case, after you delete the XOM you must generate a new XOM and update the BOM to reinstate the correct mappings.

Procedure

To delete a COBOL XOM:

  1. Right-click your rule project and then select Properties > COBOL Management > COBOL Execution Object Model.
  2. On the COBOL Execution Object Model page, select the COBOL XOM and then click Delete.
  3. Click OK to close the COBOL Execution Object Model page.

The COBOL XOM no longer displays in the Rule Explorer.

  4. Reimport the XOM.
  5. If you have already generated a BOM from the deleted XOM, perform a BOM update to establish the required mappings between the BOM and the new XOM.

See Managing changes to the XOM from a rule project.
